Temptation’s Seduction

unfaithfulIN A MARRIAGE RELATIONSHIPS…there’s always the temptation to say “I am not really happy” or “I am not fully satisfied”. There’s a deceitful lie that circulates and constantly whispers in your head, “There’s so much more out there that you’re missing”.

Like heavy-artillery, the seduction of temptation bombards your thoughts and emotions in a ploy to persuade you to violate and betray your marriage covenant. Temptation subtly infiltrates your mind and plants the seeds of seduction, “Aren’t you tired of the same old stuff day-after-day, week-after-week and year-after-year”?

Listen, at the slightest hint that seduction has gotten a fraction of your attention, seductive-bait will be placed within your reach at the most convenient and importune of times. The “eye-candy” bait will always look seductively and scrumptiously hmm. hmm good, but it is only a disguise that hides the razor-sharp-hook that will ensnare you. Once the bait has been taken and the hook has been swallowed, temptation then releases us to the consequences of destruction that we ourselves set in motion.

What the subtle enticing seduction of temptation will never tell you is that you will always reap what you have sown in life —always, always and always. If you’re hearing those deceitful seductive whispers in your head, then it’s time to yell back at them at the top of your lungs the marriage covenant you made.

It may have been a little something like this:

“I took this man/woman as my lawful wedded husband/wife, to live together after God’s ordinance in the Holy Estate of Matrimony. I will love him/her, comfort him/her, honor and keep him/her in sickness and in health; I forsake all others and keep myself for and give myself only to my husband/wife as long as we both shall live!

This marriage ring on my finger seals the vows of marriage and represents my promise for eternal and everlasting love.

I chose you to be my wedded husband/wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish forever, according to God s Holy Ordinance, and thereto I give thee my eternal pledge.

What God has put together, this marriage and my family, I will not allow any man/woman to tear it apart.”
