Do Not Lust Or Covet After Other’s Christmas Season

unhappy-xmasDuring the Holidays or “Holy Days” season, do not make the tragic indeed sinful mistake of lusting or coveting after what others have. Some of us will feel like we’ve been short-changed and given less than the next person. But have we really???

We may be tempted to think that it’s unfair because they have more money, more joy, more peace, a better house, more gifts, better clothes, better decorations, a better family with more peace, joy and love and the best spouse in the entire world. We think to ourselves, “Why couldn’t that be me”?

Any of us can fall into this deceit of lusting or coveting after a so-called “picture perfect” or Hollywood look-alike “chestnut roasting in an open fire” white Christmas. No matter how lush and green the grass looks on the other side, the other side still has to work really hard to get it that lush and green. There are no free rides in life. No matter how “picture perfect” other’s may look, they all have their own struggles and challenges to face and overcome; some far worse than ours will ever be.

So this joyful Christmas season, regardless of how little or how much you have, celebrate it really BIG!!! It’s not how little or how much you do or don’t have that matters, but how little or much you do or don’t do with how little or how much you do have that’s important. This season forget what you don’t have and choose to have a heart of celebration, thanksgiving and a joyful attitude of gratitude for all that you do have. šŸ™‚

Giving to those who are certainly struggling more is one practical way to combat this tendency. Thanks for the reminder!
